Pacifica Comic Update March 2024 – Hosting Issues and More

Hey, everyone!

Welcome to the March update for Pacifica.

I’ve been having some problems with the website and mailing list. I think I have the mailing list worked out, but I still need some help with one of the other issues.

Web Hosting Woes!

My web hosting will renew in a couple days, but I cannot pay it. My websites pacificacomic.com and discovercomics.com as well as my email through those domains will go down which will cause me a bunch of headaches. I am currently filing for disability, but will not get a decision for at least a couple more months. I appreciate any help, I use these sites to promote myself and others. If you’d like to help out and get some art rewards in return then please check out my Ko-fi or Patreon. You can get access to more of my art and sketches as well as an invite to my Discord server. At last check I’m about 23% away from keeping the sites and email up and running. Thanks!

New Comic Page!

In other news, a new page of Birds of a Feather went up which you can read here. If you’d like to read further ahead that is another bonus for Ko-fi and Patreon members. Join the club and you can read six months ahead of the free site in the story.

Events!

I also updated the Events page with upcoming appearances. For the time being these are just appearances at the Redwood Flea Market, but I will be looking for other local events to add as well.

I mentioned a local comic con being put together in the last update. I got in contact with one of the organizers a couple days ago and that is still in the works, but looks like it will be pushed back to June. Fingers crossed that it all comes together. Putting together meet-ups and events is quite the challenge and I would really like for local comic creators to have more of a presence.

Web hosting issues aside, 2024 seems to be trending upwards and I hope you’re all having a better year as well. I look forward to meeting other comic creators and fans as the year progresses. As always, thank you for checking out my work and showing an interest in Pacifica!

March Pacifica Update

Hello, everyone!

Welcome to the March update. I took a short holiday hiatus to catch up on some work and organize myself for the new year, but now I’m back! What’s in the cards for Pacifica in 2023?

Exclusive Content!

I’m going to be posting new content to Patreon and Ko-fi weekly, so if you want to get some exclusive content check out either of those sites. I’ve built up an archive of images, behind the scenes info, and lore about the world of Pacifica. I also share some of my photography that I use as reference for my art. Additionally, you’ll be able to interact with me on Patreon, Ko-fi, or Discord. I’ll give you the latest news about the comic and hang out to chat about interesting topics or answer your questions. Join via Patreon! or Join via Ko-fi!

Get an invite to the Pacifica Discord sever when you subscribe from either Patreon or Ko-fi.

Book Two Kickstarter!

The next big thing for Pacifica will be the Kickstarter for the next book in the series: Birds of a Feather. I’ve had time to continue working on the book and improve it. There will be some awesome new rewards available including comics from other great creators! Look for the pre-launch page later this month. The new and improved book will be in your hands by June of this year.

Local Events!

If you’d like to catch me in person and get some signed merch you’ll be able to catch me at the Redwood Acres Flea Market most months. I’m also going to be attending other local events. Arts Alive Eureka, Friday Night Markets, and Fortuna Auto Expo are just a few of the events I’m planning to attend in 2023. Stay tuned to get information about those appearances. If you know of any events in Humboldt you’d like to see me at be sure to let me know.

If you don’t want to wait for Pacifica books check out our Store page.

Thank you once again for taking an interest in my work! I’ll see you in the next update.

Humboldt Comic Creator Questionnaire

Hey, Humboldt County, CA artists and writers! I’m searching for locals who would like to participate in comic events to make our local comics scene more visible. Ideas I’ve been tossing around with others include Create n’ Chill type meet ups or doing a show together.

Whether you’re an artist, writer, or both, whatever your skill level, I hope you will consider joining us in growing the local comics community. If interested, please fill out the survey at the link below so that I can better plan events and notify you of them. Thanks!

Discover Comics: Webcomic Wednesday

As you may know I also have another site, Discover Comics, where I attempt to help webcomic creators and comic readers find resources.

A recent thing I’ve been doing over there is to try and make an extra push to raise awareness of comics online with the hashtag #WebcomicWednesday. As part of that effort I’ve been making more threads to try and get people talking about what they’re doing in the indie comic scene.

This week I’ve also made a post showcasing some webcomic Kickstarters that are currently running and sharing a couple of the comics podcasts that I enjoy listening to. If that sounds like something you’d be interested in reading then head over and check it out.

As always, if you’re enjoying the content I create on either site you can head over to my Patreon or Ko-fi pages to tip me and get some bonus content in the process.
