Site Update! – Revised Comic Pages, Upcoming Events, New Stickers!

Hey, everyone!

Life has been pretty crazy lately. That’s nothing new, but here’s what is:

Today I’ve started overhauling the Birds of a Feather pages here on the site, replacing the old versions of the comic with the new ones that will be in the upcoming book! Here’s the newest page to be uploaded:

Pacifica, Birds of a Feather, Page 10 - Rude Awakenings 1

If you need to catch up with the earlier pages you can head over to this page and read from the beginning! If you’d like to follow the Kickstarter campaign to be notified when you can grab a physical copy of the next book please follow this link.

In other news, I recently got these new stickers of my characters Gale and Diana! We met Diana in the first Pacifica book: Finding a Path. She’s a mysterious mountain woman who grew up with Gavin and may have special abilities. Gale and her brother Zephyr are introduced in the beginning of book two: Birds of a Feather. Gale is a jay folk monk who is skilled in aerial martial arts and is initially wary of Gavin.

New Pacifica Stickers of Gale and Diana!

These new stickers will be available to purchase at local events and during the book two Kickstarter. I do not have a final date set for the campaign yet as the book still needs work before it’s finished, but you’ll hear about it in the news letter and on social media.

May 2023 Pacifica Update – Redwood Coast Kite Festival

Hello, everyone!

Things have been a little hectic lately, but progress on the second Pacifica book, Birds of a Feather, is continuing along and I’m still getting out to shows where I can.

The next show you can catch me at will be the Redwood Coast Kite Festival on May 20-21, 2023 at Halvorsen Park, Eureka, CA 10am-5pm. This is a free public event that will have various activities going on including kite flying, workshops, and an artisan fair. Check out the website linked above for more info.

Redwood Coast Kite Fest, May 20-21, 2023

I have no other shows for May planned, so the next show after that will be the Redwood Acres Flea Market the first Sunday in June and I’m actively looking for other events for June through August so I’ll be sure to fill you in as I confirm appearances. (You can also check the Events page.)

For those of you new to the mailing list, welcome! Be sure to check out the website at www.pacificacomic.com and if you’re on Twitter or Instagram you can follow me there for more images and behind the scenes peeks at the comic. You can read a good chunk of the comics on the site’s Comics page. I’m excited to be sharing the beauty of Humboldt with the world and appreciate all your interest in the project!

If you’re enjoying the comic or my other content please consider visiting Patreon or Ko-fi where you’ll be able to unlock more art and bonuses for as little as $3. The support on those platforms helps me make more comics!

Thank you to everyone who makes Pacifica possible and I hope to see you all in the next update! Until then have a great day.

November News Update

Hello, everyone.

It’s been a while, so there are a couple things to catch up on.

First, the Kickstarter for Birds of a Feather finished unsuccessfully, but this is just a minor setback. I’m going to use this extra time to add some extra polish to the book and really make it fantastic. There will be a redo campaign early next year, probably in April or May. I’ll talk about that more as we get closer to that date.

Secondly, I’ve been trying to do a local meet up of comic creators. We’re going to try a later meeting time this month for those that work a 9-5. If you’re in Humboldt County, CA, come hang out with local comic artists and chill. Everyone welcome. Time and date below:

Wednesday, November 16th, 6pm-8pm. Humboldt County Library 1313 3rd Street, Eureka, CA

That’s it for today. Thank you to everyone who has been supporting the comic! I’ll talk to you next time.

Pacifica: Birds of a Feather Comes to Kickstarter this September!

Pacifica: Birds of a Feather, the second book in the Pacifica series, will be coming to Kickstarter in August/Sept! Follow now to be notified when the project goes live! https://kickstarter.com/projects/taitofpacifica/pacifica-birds-of-a-feather

Pacifica: Birds of a Feather is the second book in the Pacifica fantasy adventure series. It is a comic inspired by the environments and wildlife of the Pacific Northwest with fairy tale aspects and an 1800s feel. The misty redwood forests of Humboldt County have a fairy tale atmosphere to them and that feeling is something I hope to share through the comic. In a nutshell, the comic is about mountain men, monsters, and magic.

Birds of a Feather introduces two new characters: Gale & Zephyr. The two jay folk siblings happen upon an unconscious young man in the forest while traveling. Who is this young man and should they help him? Zeph and Gale have differing opinions from the start. Join them on the journey as they debate a course of action and learn more about the young human.
